FASHION PROMOTION PROJECT: ISABELLA BLOW

I went to an 'Isabella Blow: Fashion Galore' exhibition at Somerset House, London.  Isabella was a talented fashion muse, mentor and editor who was famous for spotting new fashion talent, including Alexander McQueen.  She was most prominent in the fashion world from 1993 - 2007, when she died.  She spent the last years of her life working for Tatler.

The exhibition showcased her vast private collection of outfits, now owned by Daphne Guinness.  Isabella saw clothes as a form of protection from the 'slings and arrows of daily life' and was known for wearing clothes unconventional in their construction. She often wore McQueen designs as well as Philip Treacy hats. Isabella was an influential figure in shaping British and international fashion, pushing conventional boundaries through provocative fashion spreads and sealing her status as a legendary contributor to the international fashion world.
