GRAPHICS - DAY 2

Pictures: Author's own 9/10 -13

HAVING FUN WITH LETTERS AND FONTS
Today we started out with seeing 2 movies The first one was a interview with the greatest graphic designer Milton Glazer, where we also saw some of his work. It was very inspiring to see! I think it is so impressing, that a man in an age of 83 years still are creating art work! The second one was also a interview in which my teacher Andy had made. It was about 3 different graphic designers in London; Sian Cook, Jonathan Barnbook and Ken Garland. It was also very inspiring to see their work as well.

After watching the 2 movies, we were asked to make 10 letters. The only criteria was that we had to turn it into something exciting, so we experimented with different shapes, materials and fonts. It was really fun to do. I used ink, toilet paper, plastic bags and a chewing gum package to create my 10 letters.

The other task we did today, was to make fonds and sentences such as logos and slogans, and it should  all be within a square. The square had to be around 12*12 cm. I think it was quite difficult to do, because I think that the fonds we were allowed to use, were very unoriginal and boring. I made a few samples, but I am not satisfied with them. I would have used some other fonts and then it would might had worked out for me. All in all it was a good day and I liked the assignments we did.
