GARMENT SKIRT
At the last day with fashion and textiles, we had to make our own wearable item and afterwards make a photo shoot. I chose to make a corset made out of toilet paper, but I changed my mind. I found out, that it would be too difficult to create in such a short time, so I decided to make a skirt instead of, and it turned out to be a very good idea. It took me ages to get this skirt done, because there were so much toilet paper and brown paper, which I had to fold as a rose - every single piece of paper. My original plan was to cover it all with white toilet paper, but then I thought it would be a good idea to make a mix between the white toilet paper and the brown paper. I mixed the white and brown paper by turns. I am very happy with the result and it works well, after my opinion it could be wearable without looking awkward. After making the skirt, I had to make a photo shoot at every single floor in the Ravensbourne building. A good friend of mine, Iona, wore my garment skirt and she did a excellent modeling job.
What could I have done better?
I could have chosen to make a more detailed product. I could have used colors in order to make it more conspicuous. I could have made a more puffy skirt instead of a bodycon skirt. Besides, I could have done something more interesting with my photo shoot, if I just had brought my compact camera. I think, your result will be better, if you use a compact system camera instead of the mobile camera for example. It will be more detailed if you use an advanced camera, it can help you with getting an exciting light and small details such as color difference.
