Here are some teaser photos from the studio based photoshoot. The model is a friend of mine, Iona Reid. I wanted to try out a studio based photo shoot, because I haven't done so before and I think it is important to challenge yourself, your creativity and your skills. It is much better than just stick to the same as usual as your result will be so much better as well, (or at the least you will learn from it!).
I am very satisfied with the outfits I mixed together, and I think it worked very well with the hair and make-up. For the make-up I have chosen a very bright blue colour on the eyes and I think it looks great! Admittedly, I am not entirely happy with the light in the studio; I wish I could have had some other lights because the shadows behind her annoy me. At the same time I am very happy that it happened, because I now know what I need to be aware of next time I am doing a studio based photo shoot.
Furthermore I am not totally satisfied with the model; once we got started, I found that she was not natural posing in front of a camera, and it was difficult to get her to relax into the shoot. With the luxury of time, I would have been more selective in choosing the model, and would ideally have been able to do a test shoot before the final shoot as well. However, having said this, there is something nice about her looking slightly uncomfortable and unnatural, which complements the bare, stark modern outfits.
